Tempest Droneworx™ Awarded FAA Contract for Harbinger™ Software to Enhance 3D
Mapping with Multi-Drone Control
Houston, TX – September 15, 2023 – Tempest Droneworx™, a leading innovator in drone technology and real-me intelligence, is proud to announce that it has been awarded a contract by the Federal Aviaon Administraon (FAA) for the demonstraon and evaluaon of the Control component of its Harbinger™ soware. The soware addresses the challenge of managing mulple drones with a single pilot for 3D mapping purposes, a feat that is set to revoluonize the drone industry.
The Harbinger™ soware consists of four key components: Aggregate, Analyze, Control, and Disseminate. The Control component uses a provisional patented method to divide airspace three- dimensionally based on the aircra type, sensor type, and current task. The soware is also planned to integrate with Lone Star UAS Center of Excellence and Innovaon’s (LSUASC) CIRRUS soware as part of the effort to assist with seamless deconflicon of airspace with Automac Designated Surveillance- Broadcast (ADS-B) equipped manned aircra.
LSUASC, one of seven Federal Aviaon Administraon UAS Test Sites, is operated by Texas A&M University-Corpus Chris, and will be working with Tempest Droneworx™ on this endeavor.
"With the Harbinger™ soware, tasks can be divided among mulple drones, allowing for simultaneous mapping using LiDAR, thermal, and RGB missions," says Ty Audronis, CEO of Tempest Droneworx™. "In the wake of large-scale natural disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires, this technology allows for rapid assessment of damage and efficient resource allocaon."
The FAA contract includes a nine-month tesng period and culminates in a full mock scenario demonstraon. As part of the contract, Tempest Droneworx™ will provide the FAA with a comprehensive report, and a proposed Standard Operang Procedure for mul-drone mapping.
"Being selected for this contract is a proud moment for Tempest Droneworx™," says Dana Abramovitz, COO of Tempest Droneworx™. "We are excited about the future of mul-drone mapping and look forward to connued collaboraon with the FAA."
Harbinger™ Control is drone agnosc and can be used with any drone that meets security and basic communicaon requirements, including ground-based rovers and submersibles. It is esmated to control up to 1,250 drones simultaneously using a single server, subject to communicaon protocols and networks used.
